Typhoon Gener’s presence can still be felt here in Baguio. As of August 1, strong winds and heavy rain can still be felt. Although the mayor announced that college level will have classes (only elementary and high school levels are suspended), the different universities in Baguio suspended their classes earlier this morning due to the typhoon.
Electricity failure is also present in most areas in Baguio like Magsaysay and Rimando due to some damages caused by the typhoon. Be prepared and charge your phones and gadgets to avoid running out of battery!
Baguio citizens choose to stay in their homes to avoid the danger brought by the typhoon. You can see very few people walking in the streets. Most offices are also closed due to the heavy rains and strong winds.
It was stated in the news by ABS-CBN and GMA that the typhoon is ‘slowly’ leaving the Philippine area of responsibility and may be in China on Thursday.
To be safe during this typhoon, be sure to stay at your homes. And if you need something to buy like supplies and food be sure to equip your best rain gear to avoid sickness.
